So. I know this is a stupid question but my wife and I are AP holders and this Sunday Grandma is watching our two kids so we are sneaking to the park. (Kids can never know). We will only have from about 8am to 3pm. What do we do as a coup More...
Booze! A nice meal. Big kid rides you may not normally get to ride. Make out on Pirates. - Pollyanna702128.6 #2600 5-3-13 5:55PMLike(2) Reply
Do all the "big kid rides" (if they're open) and maybe do one nice meal either breakfast or lunch and just enjoy your time together. One of the best times I had with my husband there before he was my husband we rode everything we wanted, tried on silly hats, and after the parade he was in the middle of Main Street collecting Mickey shaped confetti for my scrapbook because he knew I was going to scrapbook that day and I did. At the end of the day he even gave me his ticket to put with mine and it just so happened my ticket had Minnie and his had Mickey. Girls like the simple things. Enjoy your day! Share an ice cream, do wine tasting in DCA, go through the displays and take your time reading the park history in the Opera House, see the shows the kiddos don't like sitting through, and be sure to have someone take a photo of the two of you to commemorate your Disney date. - mandigutterrose156.4 #2204 5-3-13 7:53PMLike Reply
We got all three in one shot. And it was first thing in the morning so my kids got to talk to them for at least 5 mins. Thank you Tink,

Thanks for the update. I also wanted to add that the contractor who was injured was an outside contractor similar to the ones who worked on the Main Street Train Station and would talk as the train rode by. - letsrckthis161.5 #2129 4-14-13 11:53PMLike Reply
Someone fill me in. Did they change the height requirement on Matterhorn Bobsleds? According to MW wait times it's now 40". It was 42" last time I went.
We are going to the park tomorrow. What do you think?? He is trying soooo hard to stand up straight!!!
Lol he is to cute!! And if he is just a hair away, I used to roll the paper towels in the bathroom and put them in my shoes. Hope you guys have a great time!!👍😊 - iluvdisneyland1018.2 #7473 4-7-13 3:53PMLike(1) Reply

This^^^. Back when DCA opened and Maliboomer was still an attraction there, I wasn't tall enough to ride so the very kind CM told me to take off my socks and stick them in the heel of my shoe to make me look taller. It sure worked. Great way to get taller for the day! - BrerRabbit 228.7 #1262 4-7-13 6:51PM
PFF is a great addition. My kids love the renditions of the story time plays. So well done. And the fact that the kids get to be right next to the stage is great.
I am going to the parks tomorrow. I thought maybe I would do something nice. I know there are a lot of you who don't get there often. If you want to request certain pics please let me know and I will do my very best to accommodate you. I More...

Yes! We got one about 3 months ago, and just used it last week! If you ask, the CM will initial it (so you can't reuse it) and let you keep it as a souvenir. - duckchub290.3 #668 3-3-13 6:55PMLike(1) Reply

We are thinking about doing the Halloween party on the 15th. Is the whole park open or just a section? Are you able to go to DCA as well?
you can go to DCA if you have a regular pass, the halloween party ticket will not get you into DCA. The only land that is closed is toontown for the party. with the exception of scheduled refurb attractions and a hand full of eateries, everything will be open. - GoofyMom77108.8 #2923 9-30-12 9:09AMLike Reply

Being a So Cal native i can't wait to see this view over DL around 10am tomorrow. I remember in 1985 watching the shuttle land. Such an amazing experience.
MW'rs, remember that the lounge is for live pix from the parks. The HUB is the place you want to post other photos and posts. Tomorrow will be filled with photos of the Shuttle taking away from vacationing guests in the parks. Thanks. - splashphotoCM880.9 #101 9-20-12 1:40PMLike Reply
Most likely won't find out if there are any height requirement changes until a few weeks before the re-opening of the ride. Since its not under refurb now why worry about it? - KermitFan13407.6 #321 9-15-12 8:37PMLike Reply

Ok. Instant RAK! A. Fast pass for any ride in DCA. I got it while on RSR when it broke and we have to leave the park. I will be by Walt Disney at DCA. Please hurry I need to leave. My name is Rim. Whith my wife and son.
Guys only!!!! Is there a Disney movie you are willing to admit you got teary eyed at???? Mine is Beauty and the Beast.

AweSome! He's going to be excited. And no your RAK can be anything you want. Whatever it is you'll have a great time hosting the RAK and everyone else will be down to hunt you down! Lol. Depending on what you want to do, you can make it a scavenger hunt and hide it somewhere in the park and you can post hits, or you can post where you are and ppl will come find you, but it's all up to you you make the rules! You'll have a great time either way!!! 😄 - TikiJOSEsWingman329.5 #476 7-31-12 7:04PMLike Reply

How exciting! Birthdays at Disney are the best :) and congrats to your son for hitting 40.5. A RAK can be almost anything. One idea you could do is explain to your daughter that because it is her birthday, she can make someone just as happy as she is by giving away something of her choice. Perhaps let her pic something - DownTheRabbitHole310.2 #558 7-31-12 7:05PMLike Reply
Darn phone! I was saying- perhaps let her pick something while at Disneyland that she'd like to give to another boy or girl? I have a question. Last year was the first year I got annual passes for myself and family. We got Sol Cal passes. I love DL more than anything but lines really frustrate me and my young kids. Is it worth it to upgrade or just bite the bul More...
Personally i think its worth it. We go almost once a week - chipanddalefan527.1 #218 7-29-12 5:19PMLike Reply
I thought the same thing. I decided to just wait out the blackout period and then we wiil go again. It's great cuz the excitement is building for the kids. As for the long lines, we always wake up early and get to the parks when they open. It's amazing how much you can get in those first couple of hours. We only go about once a month cuz the drive is an hour with no traffic. - Gabster1200.0 #1634 7-29-12 5:35PMLike Reply
Our drive is an hour too. Makes for a long drive home sometimes but its worth it. - chipanddalefan 527.1 #218 7-29-12 5:36PM
Wait yOu said you don't like lines? Why would getting a deluxe or premium help you speed up the line? What we did is get the so cal too because the pass is mostly blocked on the days that Disney is packed! And usually slow on the days that you can go. We have a one year old so being in long lines is a no no but sometimes I do wish I had at least deluxe so me n da hubby could go by ourselves lol I guess if you just have the money then go for it... - annjay07134.6 #2525 7-29-12 6:57PMLike Reply
Thats what I am weighing Annjay. It's tough with my 4 and 5 year old so I am debating of its worth it - Disneyfreak11159.4 #3582 7-29-12 7:11PMLike Reply
Ya hubby wanted us to get premium and I said no we can just get premium when she's older cuz she gets so cranky waiting in line for more than 20 min and in the summer I can even imagine. Don't wanna torture my little one in the heat. Last time I waited about an hour to meet the princesses and after she gave the biggest tantrum everyone was starring!!! The waiting really pissed her off lol - annjay07 134.6 #2525 7-29-12 7:21PM
I can't wait for this Blackout to end. I am so mad the DCA opened CL and gave my family 3 weeks to experience it before B.O. I am pretty sure we are going to spend all of September there. Ok thanks Disney. Maybe that was a smart move. :-)
My guess is they are angry they only got 3 weeks to enjoy Carsland abc wonder why Disney would do that and then realized it probably a smart move on Disney since he and so many others with SoCal pass would always be there - MarshaMouse 2866.6 #15 7-28-12 3:08PM
Give me a break!! It's been way to long since I have been to DL!! I need my fix and reading all the posts help but I still miss all the smiles and good feelings :-) - Disneyfreak11159.4 #3582 7-28-12 3:14PMLike Reply

Why did they change the Matterhorn Bobsleds to 42"? My son is going to be devastated
It's a safety thing. The height requirements are set where they are because if guests are any shorter than that the safetly equipment doesn't work te way it's supposed to. - lostgirl7988541.5 #208 6-15-12 1:46PMLike(5) Reply
My son is 39 1/2" tall. Any suggestions? He is almost there!!
Safety first. Wait. There are real reasons for the height limits. Don't rush it even though it's hard. There is a lot of Disney magic out there. - sewedna84.6 #3214 4-22-12 12:05AMLike(8) Reply
I need to agree here. I know you want your son to enjoy every ride possible but as Edna said - those height restrictions are for his safety. Besides, that is part of why growing up is fun! You always feel awesome when you are eventually big enough to ride the rides you once were too small for :) - Aquata 292.2 #659 4-22-12 12:43AM
When my daughter hit 40 inches we made a big deal about it and went on all the rides she could go on in DL. But for whatever reason when we got to Jumping Jellyfish in DCA she was still about a half inch away and she wasn't allowed on. She was so upset. I tried to console her but she didn't understand. She thought she shrunk. So just FYI for when the time comes. - tballzz390.1 #346 4-22-12 9:30AMLike Reply
How funny to see this first. My husband just now was measuring our 3 year old as we are on our way today! 37 5/8"! He's just happy to be tall enough for all of the rides in Bug's Land in DCA!
