I just heard on the news (in Utah) that Disneyland will stop allowing kids in the park without an adult. Is this for liability or for crowd control? Hmmm.
Who is sending their 13 or under year old to Disney unsupervised anyway? Both a liability issue and safety for the child, as much as we might not like it there are a lot of creepy people out there and there is no morality or background check to get into the parks - Pixarprincess531.5 #220 3-18-13 10:12PMLike(7) Reply
It has already gone into effect for some CMs. Saw it happen on Goofy's Sky School in DCA last week. - Jacqueline550.4 #209 3-19-13 6:56PMLike Reply
They based their decision, in part, on the Red Cross's recognition of 14years being a solid age to begin babysitting. Makes sense to me. While I wouldn't leave a 14 year old, or anyone under the age of 17 really, alone at the parks, I do see their pov. Source: LA Times article - KylaShea541.3 #216 3-19-13 7:04PMLike Reply

It gives a smidge more info than Kyla's and part of that Is based on guest surveys. - MrsSchnooks 710.9 #143 3-19-13 7:46PM
I was planning a quick trip on March 7-9 to visit DL and DCA. The hotels are outrageously expensive that weekend. Anyone know why?
I became a member of best western years ago and find you get good rates there and if you are a AAA member you save about $20 a night. Anaheim inn BW is right across the street from DL entrance and stovalls Bw is a hop skip and a jump - Marciamcmouse7.9 #7826 2-18-13 3:56PMLike(1) Reply
We stayed at Stovalls and it was very convenient to the park - BelleLuvr 238.5 #1151 2-18-13 4:08PM
Her problem is that everything close is booked :( - Linzee 533.2 #219 2-18-13 4:12PM
It's because it's my birthday weekend... Jk... I was wondering the same. - NurseJennJillO307.7 #586 2-18-13 5:16PMLike(1) Reply
Mine, too! Happy early birthday to you! - meridafan 1098.7 #75 2-18-13 6:17PM
I'm going that weekend too and have to stay 3 miles away. With no car, we're going to have to ride the bus since the closest ART stop is a mile away. It's going to be busy and I think part of that is because that is the last weekend the discounted park hoppers are good for. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper344.2 #437 2-18-13 7:59PMLike Reply
We're staying at the Days Inn in Garden Grove. 4 nights for $311 and there's a bus stop right outside their door. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper 344.2 #437 2-18-13 8:03PM
yikes! I was thinking of renting a room the evening of the 9th! Guess not :) We have Goofy's Kitchen reservations for the 10th. Guess we're getting up early! - GarnerPhotography321.4 #532 2-18-13 8:04PMLike Reply
There are favorite places to eat in the parks but no one really talks about where they wouldn't eat. Although the food is basically all good, (it's Disney!) what places do you avoid? I would have to say the turkey leg cart.
I basically avoid everything at Tomorrowland Terrace except for the breakfast burrito (it's yummy) - Linzee533.2 #219 2-14-13 9:13PMLike(1) Reply
I love the breakfast burrito!! It's so yummy! I love sitting right next to the Matterhorn in the morning and eating one! - Cinderella12 43.9 #77 2-14-13 9:21PM
Breakfast burritos there are excellent! - MrsSchnooks 710.9 #143 2-14-13 11:08PM
I don't eat meals much in the parks (anymore) I do lots of snacks lol but I'd have to say I really didn't like blue bayou I ate there once just to say I did but was unhappy and my kids sure were mad all they wanted was chicken strips lol I have to say though,I'm a very picky eater - lisaw96.3 #3119 2-14-13 11:33PMLike Reply

So many great pictures today! Where is your favorite picture spot in the park? I love the classic Mickey at the entrance with the train station in the background.
I am lucky if I get to Disneyland once a year and from looking at the lounge, many of you go multiple times a week. My question is to all of you is, "so how many times do you go to the park in a year?" ...and boy am I jealous!
So if you were able to spend the night in Disneyland without anyone bugging you, what would you do in the park all by yourself?
I would walk the entire People Mover track to see what was left. Then I would explore inside Matterhorn mountain, go for a swim in Nemo's lagoon and finish my night off with a plate of Matterhorn macaroons inside the dream suite. - Linzee533.2 #219 8-8-12 3:36PMLike(5) Reply
Oh I do this all the time! I mostly walk through the stores and look at everything, then sit on Main St. to watch all the happy people and wait two hours for a perfect spot to catch a night time show or parade. It's fabulous! - 559MickeyLover268.4 #859 8-8-12 12:30PMLike(1) Reply
What would you do if you were able to stay after the Park closed? I would like to climb to the top of the Matterhorn and take the whole park in when it was totally empty and all the lights were on. - widowtallan 242.1 #1110 8-8-12 12:35PM
I'd love to play in the castle and ride EVERYTHING twice! - 559MickeyLover 268.4 #859 8-8-12 4:44PM
I find myself daydreaming of getting a Coke and a pretzel and sitting on Main Street, my favorite place at Disneyland to people watch. What is your favorite place in the park for people watching?
Cafe Orleans, out on the patio while scarfing down some Pomme Frites. - Goofdog170.0 #2040 7-27-12 1:45PMLike Reply
My favorite place to people watch has been and always will be in FrontierLand..... theres a small area just outside the Entrance of Big Thunder Mountain with chairs and tables..... - southcaliguy879.5 #7064 7-27-12 1:56PMLike Reply
That's a great spot! - Goofdog 170.0 #2040 7-27-12 2:08PM
Can you have fun going to DL by yourself? I have a couple of days of forced vacation time and none of my family can make a trip of it from UT. Any suggestio s? Thanks!
Yes!!!! I had a forced vacation one time and went to Thailand by myself! If I can do that.... You can definitely do Disney! You get to do exactly what you want the whole time! - TokyoTink151.4 #2312 2-28-12 12:04PMLike(1) Reply
Okay I am convinced. I'm not from CA but can catch a cheap flight down for a couple of days! - widowtallan 242.1 #1110 2-28-12 12:24PM
No problem! I usually go solo, then end up with some MWers or other friends who happen to frequent the parks as well. - LaTruce1825.9 #44 2-28-12 12:20PMLike Reply
