I'm a 47 year old married father of 3, grandpa to 1. Retired from the US Army after 23 years, I spend my time working on an advanced degree, volunteering as a firefighter with Riverside County and of course, going to Disneyland!
Going out to the parks tomorrow for our anniversary and staying at the Grand Californian for the weekend. We also have reservations of Steakhouse 55 for the first time. Gonna be a great weekend!
Thanks all, we had a wonderful time. Steakhouse 55 was great, but the best experience was the Napa Rose. The desk clerk suggested the restaurant. We had the Vintners Table, which was hands down the best restaurant experience we have had as a couple. - Firelt220.9 #1346 3-31-13 9:21PMLike(1) Reply
Renewed our AP's last night, very happy to say that we picked up the tickets at Camp Pendleton for $480.00 each for Premiums! Then we got a 40.00 rebate at the ticket booth for renewing early! It was a good day! Now we are set until late More...
Yesterday I posted a question about a supposed hidden mickey on the partners statue at dca. After about an hour of searching this is all I could come up with. Its the lock on Walt's trunk Upside down. The rivets would be the ears, but I t More...
Thanks for looking! But I'm just not seeing this one. maybe its just me though.. - tuesday7371076.5 #79 9-20-12 10:57AMLike Reply
I agree that I don't really see it either. Perhaps it's just that the imagineers didn't put one on the statue at all and we just want one. - Firelt 220.9 #1346 9-20-12 11:33AM
hm. rather small, but cute. Interesting about the ring. Also, Mickey is a a composite of the newer Mickey and the old Mickey with the moon eyes, per Aaron the Plaid. Thanks for checking--i have this sort of curiosity and enjoy when others so as well :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint1799.3 #42 9-20-12 11:04AMLike Reply
You should have asked the helpful CM that told you this. - Sweet_Irish_Cream2575.2 #22 9-19-12 3:45PMLike Reply
I did. She said she was told it was there but she did not know where it was. So I will ask again does anybody know if it really exists? If so where is it? - Firelt 220.9 #1346 9-19-12 3:57PM
I always take my grandson trick-or-treating, but this year I finally bought tix for the Halloween Event! Can't wait until 5 October, it's going to be a blast!
It'll be our first time also. Have a great time! - MightyWhitey648.3 #165 9-11-12 4:38PMLike Reply
We'll be there for the Halloween Party that same night! Hope you have a blast! :) - MrsDisneyMommy29266.3 #862 9-11-12 4:52PMLike Reply
Does anyone remember a long time ago when Excalibur could actually be pulled out of the stone in Fantasyland? I remember seeing it once when I was a little kid and wishing that could have been me. I'm sure the sword can still be removed, More...
I saw a kid pull the sword out of the stone last night. First time I saw it. Of course a bunch of people tried right after and couldn't do it. That being said, please leave the Disney magic alone. - ScooterMike1959.8 #35 8-26-12 9:37AMLike(6) Reply
Scootermike- no intention of disturbing the magic, but I am a trivia hound that loves to know how things work. That to me is the magic. - Firelt 220.9 #1346 8-28-12 4:25PM

I would highly advise you to not find that mechanism. It is for cast member use only, and you could get kicked out or possibly banned for doing so. I'd rather just use my immense strength to yank it out without any outside help :) - Slotherini886.9 #99 8-26-12 8:50AMLike(5) Reply
how many times has this "immense strength" pulled out excalibur? - Radius 501.4 #238 8-26-12 8:53AM
I'm not telling. - Slotherini 886.9 #99 8-26-12 8:54AM

I've decided that on our next trip (next week probably) we will do the things we don't routinely do and ride the rides we don't routinely ride.
Its always fun to do different things at the park or things that you never have seen or done. we are always trying new stuff we decided this next trip we are taking one of the tours. - gwynniebell2310.1 #6746 8-19-12 1:00PMLike(1) Reply

My daughter and I have done a lot of this lately. She hadn't even been on Star Tours until a few weeks ago and she's 12. Now its a new favorite. Yesterday we actually stopped and watched the parade. I love hearing her laugh and seeing her still wave at the characters. Have fun! - ElectricMayhemMom312.3 #546 8-19-12 5:28PMLike Reply

Now that the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street is gone, where am I going to get my coffee and pastry on my way out of the park when I leave in the evening? :-(
I'd like to arrange something cool for my grandson's 5th birthday. Does anyone know how to get to be the person that leads the gate opening countdown in the morning?
It's strange but I think it's easier to see when there's a bit of a wait and your eyes have more time to adjust to the darkness. I know when we rush through the queue I have a hard time seeing it! - LisaMouse7531409.1 #317 8-19-12 5:33PMLike Reply

Has anyone gone to DL on July 17 (dl birthday) on an odd year like this year? Was it packed? Tha 50 year b-day was naturally crazy, hoping an odd year like 57 will be manageable.
Good Morning! I'm not sure how busy it is, but there is information regarding this under BaseballMickey_CM's posts. Also check out Dave's post about a meetup. - Armenda994.6 #89 7-15-12 10:54AMLike(1) Reply
Did you have to make a reservation to sit up there on the balcony? - darodrig224.3 #1305 7-10-12 9:37PMLike Reply
Nope, just walked in without a reservation at about 6:30, waited about 15 minutes in the lounge and we were seated on the balcony. The place is amazing, the service is absolutely top shelf and the food is fabulous. The staff is extremely knowledgable and soooo friendly. A little on the pricey side (dinner for 2 with NO alcohol) was just at $100.00 but it was worth it. Absolutley a "do again". - Firelt 220.9 #1346 7-11-12 5:33PM

The police block it off so they can save room for the later crowd...they normally block it off between 11-2. Sorry you got diverted. Maybe try toy story lot since it has bus service. - JenInWonderland1025.1 #86 3-31-12 11:31AMLike(1) Reply
