They tend to follow the same route as the parade, they also get a photographer to take pictures, if you can talk to some of the parents, have everyone go in on a photo CD, my parents went in on it and they got some awesome pictures of me marching :) It was an awesome experience. I think Dapper Day is usually just that one day, but I love dressing up to go to the parks, and I've never really worried about looking silly, (I mean, tons of people are walking around with mouse ears on their heads and that's pretty silly, too!) It's true that a lot of people just wear jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers because they're comfortable, but I think it's sometimes more fun to look nice--you can do it comfortably, too. My wife and I have done New Years at the "land" for the past 12 years. If you have never done you need to do it at least once. It has been called the Times Square celebration for the west coast. You have to like crowds. If that is an issue then stay home and enjoy the arrival of the New Year with someone close to you.

I personally use a canon t3, I've been shooting for about a year and a half now. I shoot for fun but I've spent more money on lenses, which cost more than the camera body. It depends a lot of what you're wanting to capture. Canon shoots much more vibrant photos straight from camera and usually has sharper high action photos. Nikon on the other hand typically has better low light photos, as lower light action. Sports photographers use Canon, NASA uses Nikon. Personally I shoot Nikon because I do a lot of low light photography, concerts, weddings, etc. but mostly I chose it because it felt good to use. Beyond capabilities get what you'll use. You somehow reformatted your SD card. You need to take it out of your camera, buy yourself a new SDCard and get the other one to someone who has some knowledge of SDcards (camera shop).
