Congrats! The Uh Oa is a fun drink--it's pricey, but you share it. They do a whole chant, sprinkle cinnamon, and light a sugar cube on fire. Whenever someone orders one, the whole bar is encouraged to join in on the chant. It's really fun! You might also just tell the bartender it's your first drink and ask if he has recommendations--he will probably ask you what flavors you like and he might even have something off-menu that you could try :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar439.2 #288 6-7-13 4:05PMLike Reply

In all honestly, I spent my entire childhood with my family giving me dishonest advice and encouragement because they didn't want to hurt my feelings. I appreciate that they wanted to be kind, but it really didnt prepare me for adulthood very well. Hopefully your friend was just trying to be honest and realistic, though her delivery probably should have been a gentler--you don't look "fat" at all (and friends really shouldn't use that word against each other, in my opinion), but Disney princesses are undoubtably thin compared to the average American. In any case, something like that shouldn't hold you back from pursuing your dreams. Like Smartypants said, you never know exactly what they're looking for, and taking calculated risks is what opens doors for opportunities π - Spoonful_O_Sugar439.2 #288 8-3-12 5:03PMLike(3) Reply
I agree. I for one am a very honest friend, but there is such a thing as tact. Some people are really clueless about how things they say can be taken as insulting and truly mean no harm. Either way, it stinks to have rude and hurtful things said to you. - aidensmama 339.4 #446 8-3-12 5:10PM
Exactly. I hope it was just a "foot in mouth" moment that had good intentions. And, aurora, if what she said bothers you (it would definitely bother me), simply talk to her. You don't want to lose your friend over this. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.2 #288 8-3-12 5:15PM
Yah I am sure your friend could have spoken to you much nicer:( But if you are not a size I think it was 10 max( right CM) you won't make it in plain and simple - this comes from a nice big size 14 gal ;) so im not hatin' it just is what it is.... The only "normal" size character I have seen is an ariel and she is busting at the seems in the dress. It is not at all that she is big, she is beautiful in my eyes but she def was one or two sizes to big for her dress lol. But the dresses take hours and hours and SO much money to make you know..... they try to re-use I am sure. Still go for the exprience:) Β - BooEve123800.9 #121 8-3-12 5:07PMLike(3) Reply

Watching Tower of Terror for the first time ever. So far I really like it. :)
Love that movie!!!!! I remember my girl friends and I were so excited when tot opened we went to Disneyland and decided to watch the dvd on this tiny portable dvd player on the drive. Such awesome memories - cmdlgurl255.5 #973 7-9-12 4:23PMLike(1) Reply
Is it very scary? I was washing the dishes last night before bed and I washed a tiny hatchet thing used for cheese and then I had a nightmare that someone was trying to attack me with it in the Tower of Terror! I did the walk thru on Saturday night so it must have still been in my head. π± - Vegan7LuvsStitch817.6 #118 7-9-12 4:19PMLike Reply

Considering going on a solo trip for a few days to the parks just worried I won't have any fun when alone. Suggestions?
I'm going solo on saturday, it's so much fun. It's nice not being dragged to diferent attractions. The day is completely yours to walk around and take in the small details, people watch, and of course abusing those single rider lines :) - MJisMM31.0 #4414 6-29-12 12:24PMLike(1) Reply
Solo is really fun! My suggestions are do to things that you don't normally do (like things your normal group doesn't like, but you do), meet up with mouse waiters, take advantage of single rider lines, and generally people watch. I find I usually ride less rides because I enjoy just walking around and taking in various entertainment I don't always stop to watch (liek Dapper Dans and Pixie Hollow light show). - Sarafina400.7 #338 6-29-12 12:25PMLike Reply

I've done two days in a row. You might start out alone, but meet up with a group later, then end the night alone. It's really up to you. Just have fun with it. - disneygal408.5 #327 6-29-12 5:51PMLike Reply
I'm not sure how to feel at this point. We have the money to go to the parks but now princeluke's mom is thinking that it's so expensive for a place for little kids. *sigh* some people just don't understand the love I have for Disney.
My family says things like that all the time. If you're over 18, and not financially dependent on anyone, then you get to decide how to spend your own money. Bottom line: it's none of her business, as long as she's not still supporting your boyfriend. :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar439.2 #288 6-20-12 12:06PMLike(2) Reply

We've stayed at all of the hotels. The Paradise Pier is really great for the views, especially if you're into photography. I did not, however, think it was very comfortable. The Disneyland Hotel has just been renovated and have not stated there since the upgrades. The Grand Californian is the most comfortable, in my opinion. Beds are the best there. At city hall or the wheelchair rental or any gate entrance there is a disabled pamphlet. That will show where to enter for the disabled. If he will be using a wheelchair then he can use the alternate entrances. If on crutches it is a good idea to get a guest assistance card. They will deem which stamp to use. Either the wheelchair stamp where he can go throug the alternate entrance. An arrow stamp which surpasses the line. Which is a godsend at dca. Or the no stairs stamp. Which he would still use the regular lines. And then an alternate entrance for attractions that have stairs. But it is very hard to do Disney on crutches so I would suggest renting a wheelchair or ecv - ImAlwaysCrazy646.1 #172 4-17-12 10:05AMLike Reply

I'll be honest, I skip two days of classes for my anniversary trip every October. I'm a straight A student, and I always let my professors know ahead of time that I'll be out of town. I agree with this. It also depends on whether you're in high school or college, the classes you're missing, and whether or not you inform your instructor ahead of time and contact a classmate for missed information. If you're in college, then you have the freedom to make this decision, but know that you might miss important info, like specific expectations/instructions for your essay. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 439.2 #288 4-12-12 10:12AM

I posted a pic of the "shells" a while back. They're cool; they're King Triton's carriage (?) - cesium55531.2 #220 2-24-12 12:57PMLike Reply
I know Small World has a boat that you can put the wheel chair straight on. Haunted Mansion you have to get out of the chair. They will stop the ride or slow it down depending on what you need. I believe the website lists each ride and what it's policies are for wheelchairs. - Autoalice137.1 #2536 2-24-12 1:08PMLike Reply
