Tangaroa! The attraction opened on June 23, 1963 and was the first to feature Audio-Animatronics, a WED Enterprises patented invention. The attraction was sponsored by United Airlines for its first 12 years; in 1976, sponsorship passed over to Hawaii's Dole Food Company, which remains the sponsor to the present day. Tried for the stroller meet up but i dont know how these meet ups work :( atleast we saw goofy!!
They usually start off in goofy's playground. Just look for a bunch of wild hooligans playing in the playground. Their kids will be there too. - madsdad1130.7 #72 1-10-13 1:08PMLike(3) Reply

Aw, look around and maybe ask a group of people if they are there for the meetup. I'm sure they're still around! - MissMolly698.6 #141 1-10-13 1:03PMLike Reply

I haven't been on Matterhorn in years, i want to take my (tall)4yr old but idk if he has sit alone or with me. Is the ride as wobbly as i remember? We are suppose to go this afternoon.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to have Mommy and son chiropractor visits as well. - vincentchase642.1 #169 1-8-13 11:55AMLike(2) Reply
If you ride on the fantasyland side it's slower and not as jerky. If you ride on the tomorrowland side it's faster and more jerky. Hope that helps - wickedale208.7 #1512 1-8-13 11:45AMLike(1) Reply
Thank u! It does help to know that! - qbnmama 111.8 #2886 1-8-13 9:02PM
Has to sit alone. They have extra seat belt protection for smaller children. My 4 year old rides it just fine and loves it. If you want a slower ride for him, I would say when you are about to to the turnstiles and have to choose a side, go to the right. It is slower. - luvingmesumMarie3.0 #26364 1-8-13 2:55PMLike Reply
Agree. This right side is a little slower. - SafariSkewerJessica 139.6 #2451 1-8-13 3:10PM

Random question!
Did the inside of Goofy's house used to be different? I feel like I remember jumping inside of it as a kid but can't say for sure.
yes it used to be a bounce house. unfortunately they changed it to a little play house now - Yeti_Man476.1 #254 5-3-12 12:16AMLike Reply

My Almost 2 y/o loves it there. I can't imagine it being a bounce house now, all the chaos :/ - qbnmama 111.8 #2886 5-3-12 12:23AM
