We are thinking of flying down at the end of July. Because of the blackout dates, is the park any slower or does the fact it is summer holidays just make up for it. I would assume the latter but was just wondering if anyone could let me k More...
As a Premium AP holder, I can honestly tell you that summer season Saturdays are noticeably less busy than other days of the week. "Less busy" doesn't translate into "not crowded," however. Saturdays are still busy, just not as packed as unblocked days. We've been on Saturdays and enjoyed our visits, and turned right back around and returned on Sundays, because our friends' passes were open on Sundays. There's a difference in crowd levels, for sure. - susieQzee480.7 #247 4-14-13 3:19PMLike Reply

I'm sure I too have had bad experiences at the parks. I honestly don't remember because every trip has so many amazing experiences that I couldn't dwell on the bad even if I wanted too. I know what it's like to have a child desperate to meet a specific character. It took us over 3 years and I have no clue for my oldest to meet her fave Daisy. The first time we were in line to ever ride RSR someone posted a pic if her in Toontown. We got out of line and ran and all the way there only to find she was gone. My daughter was heartbroken..,for all of about 30 seconds because she was still at DL. I was sad for her, but chose to focus on the TONS if calories we burned on our search. Try and focus on the amazing time you got to spend bonding with your family and enjoying the magic if Disney and that one little incident will not matter at all anymore. - RCmom2590.3 #20 11-10-12 7:19PMLike(3) Reply
I agree totally and like I told my wife. I wouldn't have cared at all if it was just Jack but the fact we would have also met Sally if this girl hadn't let us in front of her after she was talking to the CM running the meet and greet is what got me going. - Henny 9.7 #6850 11-10-12 7:25PM
Hi Henny! Maybe I can help and be an encouragement. When I first joined MW, I didn't read all of the rules and I felt as if I was being bullied and attacked by many. I realized that ultimately everyone just wanted to have a positive experience on here but sometimes the tongues could be sharp (including my own in my responses to those I felt were attacking me). I am sure that all of us would love to have you as part of this happy (maybe dysfunctional (LOL)) family. With that being said, I am truly sorry you had an unpleasant experience at Disneyland. I think most of us can relate. Ultimately, I know that the good experiences will FAR outweigh the bad. Hope you have a good night and don't let this get you down. We're here to maybe help you smile! Lots of Disney love to you and your family!!! - DisneyDavidEMT451.7 #273 11-10-12 8:11PMLike Reply

If you're asking if all the rides still run? Yes but there are some that are down for refurbishment, if you go to hours on main dash board, there's a list of them. Candy is out all night so don't feel rush to get it, any way they give more towards end of night any way - MarshaMouse2864.4 #15 10-27-12 7:37AMLike Reply
The lines for candy are long when the party stars but they do move quickly. Take advantage of the rides, food and character meets first, then hit the candy lines when the lines get shorter. - Gia785.5 #121 10-27-12 8:51AMLike Reply

Everyone said it very well already, however, it is only Sept. 29th and I think the Disney Schedual is only done for a month at a time. So it may still be going on durring your trip just not on the schedual yet. - Donaldfan_532226.0 #1291 9-29-12 9:26AMLike Reply
Yea, we watch it in December so it's not just during the summer. The earliest I can make reservations for it is 30 days to the day and they are strict on that so I bet the schedule is not out yet. - Fanatic4Disney 258.0 #925 9-29-12 9:31AM

It actually tends to be a beautiful time of year to visit. For the most part I would expect cooler conditions with a breeze and slightly warmer afternoons. Definitely pack a sweater, you might want to being a rain coat too- we've been in a couple of mid-fall Disney downpours that left you soaked through and shivering. I always recommend packing extra socks too, even if it doesn't rain they are handy to have after a trip down GRR. Have a magical trip! - makingmemories162.7 #2116 9-11-12 4:27PMLike(1) Reply
